Who: 1st-3rd and 4th-6th Graders. We play boys rules, but girls are welcome! | We coach all experience levels and welcome new players.

What: A *Durham-specific youth lacrosse team, participating in the Orange County Rec Lacrosse League with teams from Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, and Mebane. What is Lacrosse? It’s like a combination of soccer, hockey, basketball and football…with sticks. Stick checking and mild body contact occurs, but we emphasize stick skills over aggressive physicality.

When: Thursdays (6-7pm practice) and Saturdays (AM game) in March & April 2026 (Spring) and September & October 2026 (Fall).

Where: **Thursdays practices at Rogers Herr Middle School (911 W. Cornwallis Rd. Durham 27707); Sat games at rotating locations (Durham, Chapel Hill, Hillsborough, Mebane)

Cost: ***$75 covers 11 sessions and a jersey. Scholarship/Assistance is happily available; we never want cost to be a barrier to participation.

Equipment: Participants will need a Stick, Helmet, Shoulder/Chest Pads, Elbow Pads, Gloves, a Mouthpiece, and a Water Bottle. Cleats are optional. Discounts are available at Play-it-Again (Durham & Burlington) to Orange County Rec Lacrosse League players. For this age, entry-level equipment/Starter kits work great and can be found online. ****Gear borrowing is available, while supplies last.

Coaches: All coaches are USA Lacrosse Certified.

*Although this team is promoted by the Warbirds Lacrosse Association, the Chapel Hilltopper Lacrosse Foundation will manage the registration, communications, coaching assignments, and game schedule.

**All league players are able to attend any league teams’ practice:

  • Tue - Hillsborough - 5:45-6:45pm

  • Wed - Mebane - 6:30-7:30pm

  • Wed - Chapel Hill - 5:00-6:00pm

  • Thu - Durham - 6-7pm
